UKRAINE: OUR MARITIME OFFICERS ARE PRISONERS IN ITALY AND GREECE




Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has announced that there are 336 naval officers in custody, detention or prison for various reasons in the Italian and Greek prisons.

According to Sputnik, Sergey Pogoreltsev, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine made a statement about this subject and said, "We have a total of 336 maritime military personnel in custody in Italy and Greece who have been in custody in Italy and Greece for some reason.”

Moreover, in November 2018, 24 Ukrainian maritime officers were detained in the crisis in the Azov Sea between Russia and Ukraine. Ukrainian sailors were later expelled from the court and their detention was extended until April 2019.
