UK may be the Next Tax Heaven

Ilknur Şebnem Öztemel-TDO- Philip Hammond, British Chancellor of the Exchequer,  told to German newspaper Welt am Sonntag that Britain was willing to change its economic model and become the tax haven of Europe  as  it would  leave  European single market soon.

Hammond admitted that when Britain leaves the EU and lose the access to the European market, its economy might suffer. He said “If we have no access to the European market, if Britain were to leave the European Union without an agreement on market access, then we could suffer from economic damage at least in the short-term”.   Also, he said  that UK may cut corporation tax in order to regain competitiveness  in  the global market. He added ‘’You can be sure we will do whatever we have to do. Hammond was still hopeful that a new arrangement on reciprocal basis, will be conducted to  trade with other European states, without opening borders.

He said “We are aware that the message from the referendum is that we must control our immigration policy. That ‘s the message the British people sent to us on 23rd of June”. It has been revealed that government is working on a new immigrant policy and plans about counter-terrorism.

During his campaign, President-elect Donald Trump visited Scotland to re-open his golf resort and praised  BREXİT as it was a good idea. He said “I think it's a great thing that happened, an amazing vote, very historic. We're very happy." Trump argued that people were angry and that’s why they voted in favor of a break up. In an interview, he added that  the European Union was too dominated by Germany and Britain was right to withdraw . He said  “You look at the European Union and it’s Germany. Basically it is a vehicle for Germany. That’s why I thought the UK was so smart in getting out.”
