TURKISH MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS DENIAL OF SANA AND REUTERS’S GAS CLAIMS IN AFRIN




Mustafa AY – TDO – 19.02.2018 On Friday, Syrian State News Agency (SANA) and British Reuters news put forward the claims accusing Turkey of using toxic gas in Syria’s Afrin. According to the groundless allegations, following the toxic gas attack by Turkish troops in the region, 6 people got seriously injured. In the aftermath of the news, US-led Coalition Forces spokesman released a statement “we don’t have any proof indicating the use of chemical weapons by Turkish troops.”

On Sunday, Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials released a statement in order to refute the propaganda campaign against themselves. According to the statement, ministry officials uttered “foreign news agencies are trying to undermine the legitimacy of Operation Oil Branch against YPG terrorist organization in Afrin. The accusations of the use of chemical weapons by Turkish troops are all about lie and propaganda. US-led Coalition Forces spokesman’ official statement indicates the accusations’ based on nothing, but lie.”
