TURKEY AND NETHERLANDS APPOINTED THEIR AMBASSADORS TO EACH OTHER TO MEND DIPLOMATIC AFFAIRS

Mustafa AY – TDO – 08.09.2018 On Friday, Turkish and Dutch governments reciprocally took moderate steps to normalize two-year long diplomatic affairs in strife by appointing their ambassadors to each other. As known, Dutch government expelled former Turkish Minister in charge of Family and Social Policy –Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya- so that they could hinder ex-Minister Kaya from administering a meeting to address Turkish expats before Constitutional Referendum on April, 2017. In response to Amsterdam’s undiplomatic approach, Ankara showed a strict reaction by recalling its ambassador to Netherlands, as afterwards did Amsterdam.
