TRUMP: I'M NOT TAKING ANYONE'S SIDE ON SYRIA




Serhat TUNAR -TDO- United States President Donald Trump has said his relations with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are good, but has indicated he is not taking anyone's side in Syria.

Answering questions from reporters at the signing ceremony of the trade agreement between the United States and Japan held at the White House, Donald Trump said they had been in Syria for a long time but that mission should be short-term.

The president of the United States added that China and Russia were very happy to see themselves sinking into this quagmire and that it was time for their troops to return home.

Donald Trump has said that Turkey has about 50 United States troops in the area where it will conduct operations and does not want them to be harmed. Trump told the Turkish side not to harm its own troops, saying it would be a big problem.
