THE VICTORY DAY OF BANGLADESH CELEBRATED IN ANKARA THROUGH A COLOURFUL CULTURAL PROGRAM




News Center-TDO- Bangladesh Embassy in Ankara organized a colourful Cultural Program at a local theatre (Akün Sahnesi) this evening. An 18-member cultural troop from Bangladesh Academy of Fine Arts in Dhaka performed 10 pieces of choreography on folk, classical and modern themes that enthralled more than 400 spectators present on the occasion. 16th December is observed as the Victory Day of Bangladesh as on that day in 1971 Bangladesh got freed of occupation forces after a 9 - month War of Liberation. The historic 7th March of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Father of the Nation of Bangladesh was displayed (with English Sub-title) before the audience. The speech has been recognized by UNESCO in November 2017 and included in the Memory of the World International Register as one of most influential and important documentary heritage of mankind.

Mr. Ebubekir Gizligider, Chair of Turkey- Bangladesh Interparliamentary Friendship Group was the Special Guest. Mr. Gizligider, expressed hope that the two nations will be working more closely in the fields of mutual interest such as trade and investment, education and culture, defence in the future.

Ambassdor of Bangladesh to Turkey M. Allama Siddiki, in his speech depicted the background behind emergence of Bangladesh as a sovereign country. He underscored the unflinching leadership of Bangabandhu behind Bangladesh's independence. He also, expressed happiness at the mutually engaging brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Turkey as "Excellent". Taste of Delicious Bangladeshi foods were appreciated by the audience.
