News Centre – TDO- Mexico’s Ambassador to Turkey Bernardo Cordova Tello has hosted an opening reception for The Reconstruction of the Being exhibition at Ankara CerModern, which features the works of Mexican sculptor Jorge Marin.
The opening ceremony at CerModern was attended by Mexico’s Ambassador to Turkey Bernardo Cordova Tello, Ministry of Foreign Affairs General Director of America Office Ambassador İnan Özyıldız as well as many representatives of foreign missions.
In his speech, Ambassador Tello said “Such works of art open a door between being and art and bring Mexican culture closer to the rest of the world."
Ambassador Tello pointed out the unusual technique of Jorge Marin and added “Opening The Reconstruction of the Being exhibition by world-famous Mexican sculpture artist Jorge Marin is a great honour for me. Such works of art open a door between being and art and bring Mexican culture closer to the rest of the world."
Ambassador Tello thanked CerModern, the Turkish government and authorities for their support in bringing the exhibition to Ankara.
Sculptor Jorge Marin, who could not make it to the opening of the exhibition but sent a video recording said he was sorry he could not be in Ankara and thanked all involved in the work on the exhibition.
The Reconstruction of the Being exhibition was first held in Azerbaijan and last year in İzmir. It consists of 10 bronze statues with a total weight of eight tonnes.
The exhibition will be open to visitors until February.
