Serhat TUNAR -TDO- With the decree issued, there is no obstacle to the opening of the country's first crematorium in Athens, Greece. A crematorium could not be built because of the objections of the Orthodox Church for more than 10 years in Greece.
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said in a statement about the issue that this situation is a significant development for his country. The Mayor of Athens, Yorgo Kaminis also made a comment n the situation and said the decision to open a crematorium was considered a turning point.
Yorgo Kaminis, who has been working for the enactment of the crematoriums for almost 5 years, ended his statement with saying that this is a very important development in terms of fulfilling his responsibilities towards the fundamental rights of the citizens of the state.
