THE ECHR REJECTED THE APPLICATION OF THE GERMAN FAR-RIGHT PARTY

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The European Court of Human Rights has rejected the far-right German party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD )'s appeal. AfD appealed to the ECHR after the president of Germany's internal intelligence service, the Federal Department of Protection, announced that the information was gathering on AfD’s actions.

In its reasoned decision, the ECHR ruled that the application could not be examined, as AfD had not yet completed domestic remedies in Germany.

As it is known, AfD appealed to the ECHR on the grounds that Germany violated Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, Article 11 on the right to freedom of assembly and association, and Article 14 on the prohibition of discrimination.
