THE CLIMATE DEAL: THE AGREEMENT HAS ALREADY HIT A RECORD





April 22nd was the first step towards implementing the historic climate agreement reached by world powers last December in Paris (France) under the aegis of the United Nations. At the UN headquarters overlooking the East River, the river that washes up against the eastern part of Manhattan,175 nations came together not only to reaffirm their commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions but also to sign, one leader after the other, the text adopted at the Paris Conference on climate.According to the UN, it had never happened that an international agreement was signed by so many countries in one day. The record was chalked up to other reasons on Earth Day, which was established 46 years ago in the USA and twenty years later become a global meeting in defence of the environment.
