Western Africa region and the Shara desert are suffering from radicalism and terror for so long. In 2012, they hijacked a Tuareg rebellion in Mali. This led a French intervention to the region and then terrorists focused on Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast.
Recently, African nations launched a new multinational military force to tackle militants in the last month but it will not be operational until later this year and faces a budget shortfall.
In several regions that geography is though, less populated and states fail to achieve their security goals, terrorism spreads. Western Africa and Sahara Dessert are good examples of it. Any ‘’guests’’ that wanted to serve local residents, immediately became the new target of these radicalists.
