News Center -TDO-The Workshop on Support to Young Farmers in Rural Development Programs under the European Union Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX), jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the European Commission, began at the Ankara Crown Plaza Hotel.

Following the opening speeches, the Workshop Program was launched.
The aim of the workshop is detecting the weaknesses and shortcomings in support of Young Farmers Program under the Rural Development in Turkey.
EU experts will provide information on the EU legal framework, including the common monitoring and evaluation framework, and will share their experience in supporting young farmers based on similar programs in the EU Member States.
The experts will contribute to a roadmap for strengthening the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock for the implementation and monitoring of rural development programs targeting young farmers in line with the EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
The workshop will be held in three sections. In the first chapter (the first day), the EU and taking valuable information and experience among the participants from Turkey "support for young farmers" will increase awareness of. The second part (second day) will cover a field trip to investigate the practice in the field and some examples of nearby farms operated by young farmers involved in the program. The last section (third and last day) will include a group discussion session on different thematic topics.
The methodology of the workshop will be brainstormed in seminars (first day) and working groups (third day).
At the end of the workgroup session, each group will present its findings and modalities in a joint session, and all results will be recorded in the workshop report, which will then guide the future support strategy.
