SANCTION WAS IMPOSED ON ITALIAN DEPUTY WHO PROTESTED TURKEY BY THROWING CHOCOLATE BOX ON FLOOR

Selin ATAY-TDO-The European Parliament has imposed sanctions on Italian Deputy Angelo Ciocca, who threw a chocolate box brought by a Turkish delegation to the ground to protest Turkey's operation in Syria.

Ciocca, who was critical of Turkey's operation in the AP, had claimed that Turkey had dropped bombs on civilians living in northern Syria.

Ciocca protested the Turkey’s operation bythrowing the chocolate box which brought by the Turkish delegation during an earlier visit in the plenary hall and said: "We do not accept gifts from those with blood on their hands and from those who support terrorism.”

Describing Angelo Ciocca's move as “inappropriate and unacceptable”, the parliament imposed a 5-day suspension for the far-right Italian Deputy.

Angelo Ciocca had earlier smashed the meeting notes of Pierre Moscovici, the EU Commission's Commissioner for Economic and monetary affairs, with his shoe in response to the European Union's (EU) rejection of Italy's 2019 draft budget plan.
