Mustafa AY – TDO – 29.08.2018 On Tuesday, following week-longs negotiation, armed opposition group’s leader Riek Machar said “continue to battle” by refusing to sign the peace treaty’s final draft. For weeks, armed anti-government forces’ leader Riek Machar, President of S. Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit and remaining S. Sudanese political parties were conducting talks of compromise to reach peace in Sudan’s capital city, Khartoum. On 5th of August, the opposing parties finally signed a first draft of peace treaty. However, on Tuesday, rebel’s leader Machar refused to sign the final draft of peace accord to end civil war. Since 2013, South Sudan has been suffering from bloody civil war. Tens of thousands of civilians lost their lives and many others were displaced because of fear of death.
