RUSSIAN OPPOSITION LEADER ALEKSEY NAVALNY CONVICTED OF UNAUTHORIZED PROTEST AND INCITING SOCIETY




Mustafa AY – TDO - 16.05.2018 The prominent Russian opposition leader Aleksey Navalny was condemned to 30-day long imprisonement by Moscow court. The rationales/charges Moscow court put forward vary from arranging illegal demonstration on 5th of May to incitement of society. On May 5, Navalny echoed anti-Putin words “Vladimir Putin is not Tsar of Russia Federation” on the streets. Besides himself, many opponents of President Vladimir Putin were taken into custody by Russian security forces since they also marched side by side with Navalny. As known, Aleksey Navalny confronted with many official accusations ranging from embezzlement to fraud. For the reason he’s the serious political challenger to Putin, Putin’s kept his every move under strict survelliance.
