ROMANIAN PRIME MINISTER ACCUSES THE EU OF A DOUBLE STANDARD

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila spoke at the news site, Politico, assessing that EU leaders are approaching a double standard on corruption and anti-government protests in his country.

In Romania, which holds the rotating presidency of the EU Council, Prime Minister Dancila pointed out that violence in France's Yellow Vests has been violated, but European leaders remain silent.

"Romania is not allowed to do what other countries do," said Dancila, "in France in the protests of the Yellow Vests, what happened. Nobody came to the European Parliament and France did not want to make a decision. This is a double standard," he said.

Romania has recently been criticized by the EU Commission and the EP for criticism of corruption issues and was accused of moving away from liberal democracy.
