Serhat TUNAR -TDO- At the invitation of Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Pope Francesco will travel to the United Arab Emirates to attend an interfaith dialogue conference.
On Tuesday, the Pope will hold a ceremony at Zayid Stadium. Approximately 120 thousand people are expected to participate in the ceremony.
Pope Francesco, who posted a video before his visit to the United Arab Emirates, said he hoped this visit would open a new chapter in inter-religious relations.
Starting the video by saying "Salamalaykum," the Pope stated, "Believing in God unites and our differences brings us closer and away from hostilities."
The Pope also touched upon the situation in Yemen in his Sunday prayer at the Vatican before his visit. He said, "I watch the humanitarian crisis in Yemen with great concern. I call on all interested parties and the international community to comply with urgent agreements guarantees food distribution and work for the good of the people.”
