OPPOSITION PARTY LEADER DETAINED IN PAKISTAN




Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The National Accountability Bureau of Pakistan (NAB) detained the opposition leader of the People's Party of Pakistan (PPP), a deputy and a former Minister of State, Khurshid Shah, claiming that the property was unpredictable and enriched disproportionately with income. Khurshid Shah is expected to appear before the judge today (September 19th).

Following his election as a member of the Sindh provincial council in 1988, Khursid Shah was elected a member of the federal parliament in 1990 and served as former Minister of Education under the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Khurshid Shah served as Minister of Labor in 2008 and then served as Minister of Religious Affairs between 2010 and 2013.
