Mustafa AY – TDO – 29.11.2017 On Wednesday, N. Korea launched ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) which landed by Japanese islands. ICBM was launched from a North Korean area named Sain Ni and reportedly flew 960 km at an altitude of 4500 meters. ICBM test by Pyongyang intimidated regional actors such as S. Korea and Japan, even if Pentagon claimed that there is nothing to fear. According to Japanese military sources, N. Korean ICBM flew around 50 min before splashing down in the Sea of Japan.
As USA blacklisted North Korea as a country of terror-supporter, North Korea seemed to have a need for retaliating this political action of USA. It is the first time North Korea carried out ICBM test since September 2017. Following the exercise of test, South Korea reacted with launching its most powerful missiles in an exercise, S. Korean officials stated. Once the number of tests proliferated, US President’s tone for ongoing obscure tension becomes harsher than ever.
