NIKKI HALEY PRESENTS UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE OF IRAN’S INVOLVEMENT IN YEMEN

Hassam Hameed-TDO-16.12.2017- US ambassador to UN Nikki Haley presented ‘undeniable’ evidence of Iran’s support to rebels in Yemen. She also claimed this to be a violation of UN security council obligation which obliged Iran to hold back on its missile activity. On the other hand, Conflict Armament Research(CAR) reported in its study that US and Saudi Arabia armed Syrian rebels ‘without authorization’ of its manufacturers which were eastern European.

Remnants of the ballistic missiles were shown to reporters, which fell close to Riyadh’s airport in November. Mrs Haley said this missile had the capacity of killing hundreds of people. Certain details were so obvious that this missile was Iranian that It "might as well have had 'Made in Iran' stickers" on it, she said. UAE, which is part of the Saudi-led coalition, said this proof "leaves no doubt about Iran's flagrant disregard for its #UN obligations, and its role in the proliferation and trafficking of weapons in the region". US accuses Iran of violating UN resolution by conducting missile tests past year which are capable of delivering nuclear weapons.

Iran’s mission to UN claimed this proof to be a ‘fabrication’ in order to undermine Iran and serve US regional plot. On twitter Iran’s foreign minister, Javed Zarif, posted picture of Mrs Haley and Ex US ambassador to UN, Colin Powell, (who told UN that Iraq had ‘nuclear weapons’, which built the case for US invasion in Iraq) saying, "When I was based at the UN, I saw this show and what it begat..". Iran’s foreign ministry formerly claimed the missile attack to be ‘an independent attack’ by Houthis to Saudi ‘aggression’.

New report by CAR alleged that weapons provided by Saudi Arabia and US to Syrian opposition have often fell in the hands of IS. Although examination of 40000 items suggest that the number of US-led coalition affiliated arms go well beyond the possibility of being only captured in battles. US and Saudi have broken contractual clauses, because retransfer of items made in EU was prohibited. It is probable that items might have been acquired by IS because of within shifting alliances of groups in Syrian opposition.
