Serhat TUNAR –TDO- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro says he can meet US-backed opposition but in the presence of international mediators.
Venezuela’s President expressed that he is ready to hold negotiations with the American-backed opposition in the presence of international mediators, while accusing the US of ordering his assassination.
The beleaguered leader, who previously rejected calls for talks, told Russia’s state-owned RIA Novosti news agency that he changed his stance "for the sake of Venezuela's peace and its future".
Maduro said “I am ready to sit down at the negotiating table with the opposition so that we could talk about what benefits Venezuela,” Maduro said in an interview with Russian state media. He added that letters have been sent to the governments of Mexico, Uruguay, Bolivia, Russia, the Vatican and other European states to involve them in the process.”
