MYANMAR’S COURT CONDEMNED 2 REUTERS JOURNALIST TO IMPRISONMENT




Mustafa AY – TDO – 04.09.2018 On Monday, Myanmar’s court sentenced two Reuters journalist to imprisonment for 7 years on the grounds that convicted journalists reportedly contravened ‘Code of Preservation of State Secrets’. On December, 2017, The journalists –Wa Lone and Kway Soe Oo-  were subject to apprehension by police since they manage to uncover the evidences of Myanmar’s Army’s act of genocide executed against Rohingyan Muslims last year. In the aftermath of arrestment news’s dissemination, USA, Canada, EU and UN appealed Myanmar government to release from detention, but resulted in unfavourable answer by Myanmar.
