Serhat TUNAR -TDO -German politician Manuela Schwesig criticized Manfred Weber, a candidate for European Parliament elections on 26 May, for statements he made on blocking the North Stream-2 gas pipeline project.
Germany-based ZDF news agency reports that Germany's Social Democratic Party member and Prime Minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Manuela Schwesig, believes the North Stream-2 is very important for Germany's future and believes that cancellation of this project will have negative consequences for the country's energy policy.
Schwesig argues that Germany wants to give up its nuclear and coal energies by 2038. Shestated that other energy types need to be transformed into environmentally friendly energy sources. For this reason, Germany needs natural gas as a temporary solution.
