News Center-TDO-03.08.2017- Pakistan’s Ambassador to Ankara, Sohail  Mahmood, hosted  Mango Festival in cooperation with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Swiss Hotel in order to inform distinguished guests about ‘’the king of fruits’’, mango.

The program started with Mahmood’s speech. Mahmood told the importance of mango to guests both in culture and economics. He also said that his term in the office is ending and he thanked to everybody that helped him to achieve his duties during the term.

Program continued with Deputy Minister of European Union, Ali Sahin’s speech. In his speech, Sahin told his experiences about mango when he was a student in Pakistan.  He said ‘’ As there are various types of mango that grow throughout a year, it was very cheap and helped us to finish our education successfully. When we came back to Turkey, we tried to present plans to grow mango in Turkey, due to climate commons, especially in South Eastern Anatolia’’. He added ‘’ but it would be better to taste on its land, Pakistan’’.

Then, MP from Van and the President of Pakistan-Turkey Culture and Friendship Foundation, Burhan Kayatürk took the stage. He gave some advices to local businessman to regulate mango sales in Turkey, increase the amount of exports and let Turkish people to like it. He defended ‘’ I believe Turkish people will like and get addicted to mango soon’’.

The program continued with treat of traditional foods and desserts with mango.
