News Center -TDO- India’s Ambassador to Turkey Sanjay Bhattacharyya and his spouse Ranu Bhattacharyya hosted “Mahatma Gandhi Conference Series”event.
Chairman of Turkey-India Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and AK Party‘s Deputy of Bursa Efkan Ala, ambassadors, academics and other guests attended to the event held in the Indian Embassy in Ankara.
Ambassador Bhattacharyya, in his speech here, said there are strong relations between the two countries based on the past.
Mr. Ambassador stated that Turkey and India have a remarkable transformationin many areas and added, "We define it as our natural partner in Turkey of the 21st century."
Ambassador Bhattacharyya said that long-term trade relations between the two countries are being continued and stated "We define Turkey as our natural partner in the 21st century.”
In his speech at the event Efkan Ala said that the two countries have long history of friendly relations and stated "We want to evaluate our current potential with improving our bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation."
Saying that the trade volume between these two countries was $ 8.6 billion in 2018, Ala stressed that President Erdogan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi agreed to increase this figure to $ 10 billion by 2020.
Ala, Turkey-India Joint Economic Committee of the information before the end of this year will be held in Ankara also shared.
Ala also stressed that tourism has an important role in bilateral relations between Turkey and India and said that Turkey is an important country for Indian tourists.
