JUVENILE FIGHTERS RELEASED THROUGH UNICEF IN NIGERIA




Mustafa AY - TDO In Nigeria, 894 juvenile fighters affiliated to anti-Boko Haram militia called “Civilian Joint Task Force" (CSTF) were released through initiatives of UNICEF.

Muhammed Fall, UNICEF's head of Nigeria, uttered that 3000 juvenile fighters, have been recruited to CJTF since 2013. However, through UNICEF's initiatives on release of those juvenile fighters from CJFT, they've managed to sign an agreement "Action Plan" with CJTF. With the help of the agreement, 1,727 juvenile fighters have been released since 2017.Lastly, Mr. Fall stated that they've undertaken task of reintegrating those children released from militia group to society in collaboration with local NGOs and Nigerian government.
