Mustafa AY – TDO – 28.06.2018 On Wednesday, Italian PM Guiseppe Conte made vital statements with regards to EU sanctions on Moscow. PM Conte asserted that they have intentions to better Italy-Russia relations. For this reason, Conte may not renew the anti-Moscow sanctions in effect since Italian eceonomy has suffered from the sanctions. In addition, Italy is responsible for protecting and serving for small and medium Italian entrepreneurs’s commercial interests in Russia.
On Thursday, PM Guiseppe Conte will attent to EU Council meeting in Brussel. That Conte stressed its intention not to prolong the anti-Russian sanctions ahead council meeting yesterday is evaluated as a reaction to EU’s indifference to Italy’s constantly repeated calls for solution to immigration and refugee issue that Rome has faced with for a while. Thus, Rome may not opt for renewal of sanctions on Russia.
