ISRAELI PM NETANYAHU MET WITH HIS EGYPTIAN COUNTERPART TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE OF GAZA




Mustafa AY – TDO – 27.09.2018 On Wednesday, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had an official meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in New York, where two went for 73rd Session of UN General Assembly. Both leaders discussed the matter of increasingly growing tension in Gaza Strip and reviving the newly-stopped peace negotiations with Palestinian Hamas organisation.

As known, Tel Aviv administration and Palestinian Hamas unexpectedly arranged bilateral reconciliation talks under mediation of Egypt to alleviate the severity of exacerbating situation that unfolded in the aftermath of Trump administration’s unilateral declaration of recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.  However, that both contesting parties couldn’t currently reach a consensus on the peace conditions is reported.
