Mustafa AY – TDO – 18.11.2018 On Tuesday, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu reached a ceasefire agreement with Hamas to halt military offensive on Gaza. Netanyahu’s unexpected decision over Gaza prompted ex-Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman to resign from his office. Lieberman’s resignation put coalition government’s other members in motion. On Friday, PM Netanyahu arranged a private meeting with his Education Minister Naftali Bennett. During the private meeting, Bennett reportedly demanded early elections from Netanyahu. According to information leaked by anonymous sources, Bennett’s call for early elections is endorsed by Interior Minister Aryeh Deri and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon. Therefore, increasing stance against PM Netanyahu in the cabinet signals that early elections would much likely be held.
