IRAQI SHIA PARAMILITARY BADR ORGANISATION’S LEADER WITHDRAWED HIS CANDIDACY FOR PM’S OFFICE




Mustafa AY – TDO – 19.09.2018 On Tuesday, Iraqi Shia Paramilitary Badr Organisation’s leader Hadi al-Amiri announced the withdrawal from ongoing competition for PM’s office. Current Iraqi PM Haidar al-Abadi sought for forming coalition to end ongoing political stagnation in the country. As a result of his utmost efforts, PM al-Abadi managed to form the coalition, which is comprised of Shia Sadrist Movement’s leader Muqtada al-Sadr – also the winner of general elections as the leader of al-Sairoon Coalition in 2018 -, Hikma Coalition’s Shia leader Amar al-Hakim, former PM Iyad Allavi and Vice President Usame Nuceyfi, against the Fatah Coalition’s leader Hadi al-Amiri. With al-Amiri’s withdrawal, there is no obstacle remained before election of new PM and accordingly the new cabinet.
