IRAQ PM ANNOUNCES END OF WAR WITH IS

Hassam Hameed-TDO-10.12.2017- Three year war has come to an end said prime minister Haider al-Abadi. He said Iraqi forces are in complete control of Iraq-Syria border, and this announcement comes two days after the announcement of Russian military that its objectives in Syria are completed.

In 2014 IS occupied large areas in north and west of Baghdad, which almost endangered the survival of the country. With the help of US-led campaign, Iraqi troops have recaptured large swathes of Iraqi land back. Iraqi PM said "Our enemy wanted to kill our civilisation, but we have won through our unity and our determination. We have triumphed in little time".

This November Syrian troops ‘fully liberated’ last stronghold town of Albu Kamal by IS, with help of Russian military. Whereas Russian presence would remain in Syria for purpose of ceasefire and peace keeping.

Analysts fear that the dispersion of foreign fighters might lead to attacks abroad.
