Serhat TUNAR -TDO- The Iranian government has announced that Iran may withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in response to US decision to continue the sanctions.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, said in a statement on the subject that they are evaluating the decision announced by the United States and there are many options at the table. Zarif said that even withdrawing from Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, is being discussed.
The tensions between the United States and Iran have increased as the US President Donald Trump's administration announced last year sanctions against Iran. Recently, the US administration, which included the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a list of terrorist organizations, had further strained relations with Iran.
Iran has previously threatened to withdraw the Trump government from the NPT Agreement.
