News Center-TDO-08.09.2017- Macedonia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Zvonko Mucunski, hosted a reception in Sheraton Hotel regarding 26th anniversary of independence, 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macedonian Army and diplomatic relations with Turkey.

Several respected guests including former minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Recep Akdağ, Director General of Press and Information, Mehmet Akarca and  President Council of Higher Education, Yekta Saraç were also among the attendees.

The program started with Ambassador’s speech. In his speech Mucunski highlighted  strong historical, social and economic links between the two nations. Moreover, he underlined the importance of Turkey as it supports Macedonia’s membership to NATO.

Then, Akdağ took the stage. He said Turkey was the first state that recognized the independence of Macedonia as its constitutional name. Additionally, he noted that Turkey would continue to side Macedonia through its way to NATO membership as it would benefit peace in Balkans.

The program continued with treat of traditional food and mini folk music concert.
