Mustafa AY – TDO – 25.12.2017 On Sunday, during the parliamentary session, Iranian MPs issued a bill that recognize Jerusalem as the capital city of Palestine. Iranian legislated the bill as 187 of 233 deputies was in favor. The remaining votes follow 187-favor-votes with 15-against and 9 abstaining. So, Iran officially recognized Jerusalem as the capital city of Palestine and condemned the USA for their illegal stance behind Israel.
On contrary to Iran, Guatemala, which is one of the 9-against countries staying in favor of Israel and USA in UN voting, released a presidential statement in Facebook referring to “Guatemala will relocate its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem”. The President of Guatemala, Jimmy Morales, made a phone call with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. They talked about that Guatemala will announce its decision on relocation of Guatemalan embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. President Morales briefed his phone call with Netanyahu in his Facebook page and said “we talked about the relations between two nations that has been lasting outstandingly since Guatemala endorsed the creation of the State of Israel”. He informed the public with regards to that he gave the essential instructions to the Chancellor to commence the move of embassy to Jerusalem” he added.
