HUNGARIAN NATIONAL DAY WAS CELEBRATED IN ANKARA




News Center-TDO- On the occasion of the ”Hungarian National Day”, a reception was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Ankara, hosted by Viktor Matis, the Hungarian Ambassador to Ankara.

Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, representatives of foreign missions in Ankara and many guests attended the reception.

Ambassador Viktor Matis made the opening speech at the reception, which started with the national anthems of the two countries.

Recalling that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan paid an official visit to Hungary last year, Ambassador Matis said, "We will host him again in Hungary in two weeks.

Drawing an attention to the role of Hungary in the Turkish Council, Ambassador said they support Turkey's EU accession process. “Hungaryis fully aware of the regional significance of the Republic of Turkey," he said.

In her speech,emphasizing Hungary and Turkey said that the two strategic allies, Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said "In this context, we want to offer our heartfelt thanks to Hungary for their support to the Peace spring Operation in Syria”.

Minister Pekcan mentioned Turkey and Hungary's multilateral work on the basis of economic cooperation based on shared common goals of peace and stability. "We want to develop bilateral trade and economic relations in a manner consistent with our current relationship. Hungary is particularly important trade partner for Turkey and logistics center in Central Europe," she said.

Minister Pekcan stated that the two countries should have joint dialogue and high-level contacts in order to deepen the mutual economic relations; and within this framework, she said they give a great importance to the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meetingwhich was planned to be held in Budapest on November 7,which the President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate.

Hungary, who also thanked for Turkey's EU full membership process Pekcan support for the close cooperation of the two countries, expressing his belief that the friendship and brotherhood will continue in the future.

Expressing her gratitude for the support Hungary giveson the process of Turkey's full EU membership, Pekcan shared her belief to the close cooperation, friendship and brotherhood oftwo countriesthat will continue in the future.
