GLOBAL ENERGY SECURITY





There is a direct and strong relationship between the energy security and national security of countries. It is for this reason that energy security is among top issues being debated at the international as well as the national level. The concept of “energy security” necessitates the assessment of many factors together, which range from energy output to potential terrorist attacks on energy production, transfer and distribution systems, from cuts caused by insufficient investment to damage caused by hurricanes, from strikes and industrial action to civil wars and occupations. For this reason in assessments of energy policies and supply security one needs to take up many issues such as the geographical distribution of energy resources, costs, transportation routes, trends in demand increases, the importation dependency of major consumers and the military doctrines developed to procure these resources.  Dr. Cenk SevimYou can read the rest of the article on our issue of July
