The European Western Thrace Turkish Federation (EWTTF) has launched a campaign for those struck by Article 19. This will involve the federation applying on behalf of those who lost their citizenship as a result of the 19th Article of Greece’s Citizenship Law to the European Court of Human Rights. They call on everyone who has lost their citizenship as a result of this article to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
The statement on their website reads:
“Dear West Thracians,
The EWTTF will be apply to the European Court of Human Rights regarding those individuals who have lost their citizenship as a result of the 19th Article of the Greek Citizenship Law and, with the law remaining in force, have been unable to get the citizenship back. We need to collect detailed information in order to make the application. For this reason, we strongly urge anyone who has lost their citizenship as a result of Article, or a relative, to contact the European Western Thrace Turkish Federation as soon as possible. If you or a relative have been affected by Article 19, please complete the form given below and return it to the EWTTF so that we can collect the information.”
