Ilknur Şebnem Öztemel-TDO-President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan went to Russia to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. Erdoğan is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of National Security, Fikri Işık, Minister of Justice, Bekir Bozdağ, Minister of Economy, Nihat Zeybekçi, Minister of Communication, Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Berat Albayrak and Chief of General Staff, Hulusi Akar. There will be both individual and intra-committee meetings.
It has been declared that Erdoğan and Putin met in Constantin Castle. In the meeting Putin highlighted their support to Turkish government after the failed coup attempt, happened on 15 June 2016 and said he was hopeful about the future of bilateral relations which was harmed due to the flight crisisAlso, Erdoğan said that the region need Turkey and Russia in order to solve political problems. He said ‘’ we are happy that with this meeting, we will start up high level of cooperation between various committees. We have numerous agreements on the table. The region has expectations from Russia and Turkey and I hope by cooperation we will be able to serve to the solution of these problems’’.
