News Centre-TDO- An event was held in Ankara with the contributions of Bangladesh's Ankara Embassy and Kecioren Municipality due to "Pohela Baishakh" on the first day of the Bengal solar calendar.
New Year celebrations include the Ambassador of Ankara to Bangladesh M. Allama Sıddıki, Kecioren Municipality Deputy Chairman Nihat Özçelik and Bangladeshi students studying in Turkey as well as representatives participated in numerous missions.

Pohela Baishakh or Bangla Nababarsha is the first day of Bengali Calendar. It is celebrated on 14 April as a national holiday in Bangladesh, and on 14 or 15 April in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura and part of Assam by people of Bengali heritage, irrespective of their religious faith.
"Pohela Baishakh" in Bangladesh, where many different groups and people of religion live, is very important because it is the common holiday of all segments.
After the demonstrations, Bangladesh cuisine was served to guests.
