DESPITE BILATERAL RELATIONS IN TURBULENT, PAKISTAN ENDORSES IRAN AGAINST USA

Mustafa AY – TDO – 01.09.2018 After USA predictably announced unilateral withdrawal from 5+1 Nuclear Accord, which was signed with Iran in 2015, in 2018, many countries harshly criticized US to contravene the principle of ‘pacta sund servanda’, which is equivalent to displaying strict compliance to international law. One of the criticizing countries is Pakistan as expected. On Friday, Islamabad FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi made vital remarks with regards to USA’ renewed sanctions on Iran. Quareshi expressed that Pakistan supports Iranian rule against US sanctions.

Pointing out a report of International Atomic Energy Agency telling that Tehran has been in compliance with 5+1 Nuclear Accord Pakistani, FM Quareshi implied the fact that USA’s inconsistent attitude on this matter undermined bilateral relations of USA with foreign nations. Aside from USA, remaining parties of the treaty should maintain their consistent stance on Iran by fulfilling all the pledges, Quareshi said. As a last word, Pakistani FM announced that he will pay an official visit to his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif on upcoming days.
