Mustafa AY - TDO - On Sunday, Iraqi court condemned 3 DAESH terrorists of French- origin, whose names are Kevin Gonot, Leonard Lopez and Salim Machou, to death sentence. Regarding the issue, Iraqi officials underlined that 30 days has been given to convicted French nationals to appeal the ruling.
DEASH militants of French-origin, who face with death sentence, were captured by US-backed PKK -PYD terrorist organisation during an intensive armed clash in February. Following capturing DEASH militants, PKK-related PYD terrorist organisation transferred them to Iraqi forces for awaited trial without waste of time. With regards to the matter, French President Emanuel Macron deemed Iraqi court's decision of death sentence to French nationals as " It's a decision of sovereign state", so refrained from making a comment on the matter. As a reaction to death sentence, France-centered human rights groups also released a statement that Iraqi court banks on circumstantial proofs and confessions made under pressure during interrogation.
