CANADIAN GIRLS PLEADED FOR ATTEMPTING TO SMUGGLE COCAINE INTO AUSTRALIA




Hassam Hameed-TDO-28.02.2018- Two Canadian girls have pleaded for trying to bring commercial amount of cocaine into Sydney, Australia. Its street worth is more than $21 million. Girls initially denied playing any role in the smuggling, but changed their minds before trial begins, which is this week.

Australian authorities claimed this capture to be one of its kind. Melina Roberge, 23, and Andre Tamine initially denied playing any role but have changed their mind before commencing of the trial. Although, 29-year-old Isabelle Lagacé, a third Canadian was sentenced to jail in 2016 for her role in the smuggle process. 35 kg of cocaine was discovered in Roberge and Lagace shared cabin, by dog sniffers. Further 60 kg was discovered in Tamine’s cabin.

Legace was given a 7 year term in prison. Legace said "It pains me to know my most defining years of womanhood will be spent in jail… I feel remorse and anger at myself about being involved with people who are part of a dirty, dirty drug trade," according to the newspaper.
