BRITAIN GOES TO POLLS IN DECEMBER

Serhat TUNAR -TDO- Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the main opposition Labour Party in the UK, has announced he supports the government's bid for an early election. Following Corbyn's announcement, elections in the UK in December were finalized.

Meeting with members of his shadow cabinet this morning, Corbyn said No-Deal separation was off the agenda as the European Union confirmed it had delayed Brexit until January 31, and that was exactly what they wanted.

An early election vote was held in parliament after the European Union's postponement of the Brexit date to January 31 was formally agreed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, but British MPs rejected Johnson's bid to hold an early election on Dec.

After Corbyn announced his support, the bill became law. The government marks December 12 for the election, while opposition parties want that date brought forward.

Opposition parties ' reasons for pushing the deadline early include giving the government time to attempt to pass its Brexit deal with the European Union through parliament and ensuring that university students returning home for Christmas can vote while they are still in school.
