İlknur Şebnem Öztemel-TDO- According to Greek Photo Therna newspaper, a package which was marked with a Greek postal service stamp, with the sender indicated as Adonis Georgiadis, an opposition lawmaker from Greek liberal-conservative New Democracy party whose book store was bombed two days ago, was sent to German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schaeuble.
Georgiadis confirmed the event on his Twitter account that his name hadbeen noted as the sender of the parcel, adding that he was obviously targeted by terrorists.
It has been asserted that the Greece-based, the Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei anarchist group is responsible for the attack. It has been carried out a number of similar attacks, sending parcels with bombs to foreign embassies in Athens and numerous foreign leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
The main target of the attack, Schaeuble has become infamous in Greece as he was blamed for the delay of the second review of the Greek bailout program. Schaeuble said:“As I have understood from my visits to Greece from 2012 to 2016, it is not wrong to say that Greek people does not like Europeans especially Germans. This prejudice probably caused by the economic pressure imposed by them. It seems fault lines in Greece both in state economics, interior and international politics and streets will be deepen.”
