Serhat TUNAR -TDO- France and Germany met with the leaders of the Balkan countries at the summit in Berlin. Disputes between Serbia and Kosovo, the EU accession process of the Balkan countries and Russia's influence in the region and Turkey were among the issues discussed at the summit.
French President Emmanuel Macron said before the summit that peace in the Balkans is very important for Germany and France. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Albania, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia and EU members Croatia and Slovenia leaders attended the summit.
Another goal of Germany and France is to resume negotiations between Serbia and Kosovo. German Chancellor Angela Merkel thinks that talks between Serbia and Kosovo should resume in order to maintain stability in the region.
