Serhat TUNAR –TDO- A suicide bomber struck the Libyan Foreign Ministry in the capital, Tripoli, killing three people on Tuesday, security officials said.
The officials said a second suicide bomber was shot and killed by guards before he could detonate explosives hidden in his vest.
The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the news media, said at least seven other people had been wounded in the attack.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Libya has been a haven for Islamic militants since the 2011 uprising that toppled the dictator Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi. The country is split between rival governments, each backed by local militias.
