AN ENVOY HAS BEEN SENT BY POPE TO CHILE IN ORDER TO INVESTIGATE CHILD ABUSE CLAIMS




Hassam Hameed-TDO-01.02.2018- Top Vatican expert will be sent to Chile by Pope Francis in order to conduct an investigation in a matter which involved a bishop covering up accusation of misconduct by a priest. Pope has been criticized recently for claiming that Bishop Juan Barros to be innocent and been a victim of slandering.

Critics have spoken strongly against the appointment of the bishop and have asked for a review. Investigator archbishop Charles Scicluna is heading to the country to “listen to those who want to submit information in their possession". Bishop Barros has  been accused of being present when priest Fernando Karadima was molesting young boys.

"The day I see proof against Bishop Barros, then I will talk. There is not a single piece of evidence against him. It is all slander. Is that clear?" Pope said. Pope is being criticized for his comments, even a papal advisor Cardinal Sean O’Malley said Pope has inducted pain with his words.
