While the masses of Palestinian worshipers were preparing to perform the “El- Asr” prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Thursday July 27, at first, the Israeli occupation forces refused to open "Bab Hatta", prompting many religious figures to call to pray in Bab Hatta and sit there, instead of entering the mosque.
Thousands of young people and Palestinian citizens gathered in the closed door and " Bab El-Asbat”", expressing their continued refusal to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque only after opening the door. The Palestinians performed the noon prayer “Addoher” on Thursday in public squares in front of the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially the two doors of "Al-Majless" and "Al-Asbat" in light of tension after confrontations between the guards of the Aqsa and the Israeli occupation police after the Israelis asked to check the identity cards of guards before entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque, these confrontations led to the injury of dozens of Palestinians in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, after the occupation forces stormed the mosque and attacked the worshipers, and the Israeli occupation forces fired sound bombs and tear gas at Palestinians who entered the mosque, While warned the religious authorities in Jerusalem of a massacre that could be committed by the occupation forces against the worshipers. The Palestinian Red Crescent announced that 96 Palestinians were injured in confrontations in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and at its doors, Israeli occupation forces fired rubber bullets and tear gas after Israeli special forces stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque and besieged thousands of worshipers inside the tribal mosque. The confrontations between Palestinian youths and Israeli occupation forces continued outside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque while the occupation forces closed all the doors of the Old City of Jerusalem.
On the evening of Thursday, July 27, the occupation forces stormed the tribal mosque in al-Aqsa courtyards after cutting off electricity from it where dozens were protesting before attacking them, which led to the injury of 15 of them, mostly by rubber bullets, and arrested 8 others. While citizens in the Old City heard the sound of live gunfire in Bab Hatta in Old Jerusalem, without the source of the shooting being clarified.
Prior to that, tens of thousands of Palestinian citizens, prayed the evening prayer “El-Ichaa” inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the fact that the occupation forces prevented hundreds of young people from entering the areas of “Bab Al-Asbat" and " Bab Hatta" in the Old City of Jerusalem, amid clashes that extended to the evening in areas in the Old City and other areas.
