Mustafa AY – TDO – 29.05.2018 On Monday, Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif arranged an official meeting in Indian Capital New Delhi. The main agendas of meeting ranged from India’s oil import from Iran to US withdrawal from 5+1 Nuclear Accord signed with Iran. Moreover, Indian Minister Swaraj touched on the issue of USA’s unilaterally imposed-heavy sanctions against Tehran. With regards to US sanctions, Swaraj uttered that India will merely adhere to sanctions enforced by UN. So, she specified that India proceed to remain impartial and indifferent to the sanctions that are unilaterally imposed by nations like USA.

As for 5+1 Nuclear Accord, Indian Minister Swaraj pointed out and critized about USA’s arbitrary and unpeaceful move of withdrawing from Nuclear Accord signed with Iran. She drew attention to the future steps that remaining 5 countries have to take for perpetuating the Accord. She said it’s quite crucial because the precautionary steps by 5 remaining countries will contribute to promotion of regional and even global peace since it will work for hampering the emergence of prospective problems. She repeated her statement that India will remain neutral to any action that would escalate tensions.
