‘PANMUNHOM’ JOINT SECURITY AREA WILL BE TOTALLY DEMILITARIZED




Mustafa AY – TDO – 23.10.2018 US-led UN Command, South and North Korea have reportedly agreed on demilitarizing Panmunjom Joint Security Area. In accordance with the agreement, as of October 25, UN Command, North and South Korean troops deployed across the border will be disarmed and the border guard posts will be removed.

On 1st of October, Seoul and Pyongyang reached a consensus on launching joint and mutual operations to clear 800.000 mines set up across the border. So, both countries commenced their mine-clearing operations from S. Korean demilitarized town of Cheorwon so as to clean all zone from all sorts of explosives as well as mines.
